I don't get what the big deal is. You have a tried and true system in place. And a theoretically better system that might replace it at some time in the future that has passed some tests and failed others. Until the issue is sorted out, the army has banned its use to force soldiers to continue to use the tried and true system. If and when there is consensus that dragon skin is at least an acceptable alternative maybe it will be considered. Until then...well, soldiers are not guinea pigs.

Middle east countries like Egypt, UAE, Kuwait may want dragon skin body armor. European countries like French, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, etc The list goes on and on.But faster result in a form of army response could be gotten from selling them to the Russian and the Chinese. lol.

Well to see whether the US army was lying tryselling the dragon skin body armor to South Korean, British or any other allies nations. If you wanted fast test result try selling dragon skin body armor to the Russian or Chinese. How's that? Not very patriotic but what's the patriotic thing about lying and rejecting the better body armor for sake of personal financial or economic gain?Actually generals and general bodyguards wear them. As well as special forces. That is your answer.

Dragonskin melted in extreme condition. It failed the endurance test when it came to certain conditions.

Money in the military is already being stretched as it is. When I went through BCT a few years back, we actually had to give up our IBA's (body armor) to send over to Iraq and Afghanistan. It sucks that we don't have the best of the best, but IBA's are still pretty effective! (flak jackets suck) |
