Afghanistan has been allied with India from the British creation of Indian in 1947 due to the inclusion of NWFP in Pakistan. We are not speaking of the Taliban which is a relatively recent phenomenon. They were supprted too by the USA , Saudi Arabia and the UAE when they came to prominence in the chaos that followed the defeat of the Soviets in Afghanistan. In fact recently released US reports credit Pakistan for having defeated the Soviets in Afghanistan as large numbers of Pakistanis served.

how can you say Afghanistan has always been an Indian puppet when it was Pakistan that supported and encouraged the Taliban rule, when India disapproved it? It is a fact that before the 9/11 attacks in America, Pakistan openly supported Taliban in Afghanistan and was only one of three countries to give diplomatic recognition. If it was an Indian puppet, Taliban would never have come to power since India is strongly anti-Taliban.
