Heh, my inquiry was regarding the logic behind your opinion. A simple curiosity of what drove you to that opinion. I'm not sure any of these videos were posted by anyone but McFerrin fans. away. Also, I was referring to such videos as the one where McFerrin is first starting to learn a particular classical piece with Yo-Yo Ma, who makes a reference to his "down-to-earth" character. He's also made several appearances at universities, which also promote this I-do-it-for-the-love-of-music-"vibe"

Videos are posted to garner exposure, which can lead to other MORE lucrative ventures. I don't know if McFerrin is an elitist, as I said, it was just an opinion. By the same token, unless you know McFerrin personally, you have no way of knowing if he is down to earth. Performances are just that...performances. A performance can give you a vibe, but by no means can a performance determine the true nature of another person. How's that for logic?

Having an opinion is one thing, but I personally find it difficult to believe there is any real logic behind calling McFerrin an elitist. Given that there are 50+ videos of McFerrin, most showing how he is down to earth and focused on the love of music, I'm just curious as to what gave you that impression. Take care :)

This is why I consider the VOICE to be the FIRST INSTRUMENT...not considered by all to be true.Anyway, too bad both Hancock and McFerrin seem to come off as being elitist in the broad picture...just my opinion, don't sue me LOL
