Visit http://www.jrcs.com to view additional cosmetic surgery videos. In this clip, Dr. James Romanelli demonstrates how different implant types respond to punctures or tears. As you will see, the modern silicone gel implant (the Natrelle® implant), even when cut in half, maintains its shape and silicone does not leak from the implant. These implants are a popular choice for Long Island breast enlargement surgery.

Silicone gel implants, the ones commonly called "gummy bears," are indeed available in an anatomical shape. In fact, many surgeons find the anatomical shape to be particularly appropriate for this implant type, since it will hold its shape rather than re-shape to the effects of gravity. As a result, a round silicone gel implant may create too much fullness in the upper portion of the breast. A plastic surgeon can show you each implant shape and talk with you about what will best meet your needs.

is it possible to get these gummy bear implants anatomically shaped? or do they only come as round?

That's an interesting question, but I'll admit I've never heard of having to go through several stages of breast augmenation. In my experience, a reputable surgeon will recommend a single procedure with your desired implant size, but the best source of information is talking with a plastic surgeon directly.

well thank you for these videos, they are very informing and interesting, im planning on getting implants, but ive heards that i haver to start with small ones and then move up little by little is that true or is it safe to just get the desired size in one operation.

they're not traditional silicone though. they're far more stable and safe. the gel is so thick it can't be introduced via trans-umbilical method.

Hey I just got my saline implants 3 weeks ago with dr robert rey from dr 90210 im not sure if u have seen his show or not but anyway i love my implants they are so much safer and better for you, the only thing i would of changed is the size I would have liked to get them bigger because what u see when they show u is the size but you have to take into consideration that they wil lbe put under the muscle so of course there not going to look as big as when u see the saline bags in the office

go with gummi bear implants. they're safer than silicone, and the most realistic material out there (cohesive gel)

Wow i was thinking about getting saline implants until i saw this video! I guess alot of websites need to update their information on silicone gel implants because these ones seem so much safer than the old ones! Im thinking about getting implants within the next year so if anyone wants to offer advice please send me a message i would so much rather hear from real positive women rather than negative stories i hear on tv thank you!
