Tornadoes usually form from mesocyclonic rotation, which is almost always located in the southwester side of a supercell. That's what the hook echo (hook shape on the bottom) indicates, because that is where dry air is being pulled into the storm via the mesocyclone, creating a small hook shape. Since this is the area of the strongest rotation in the storm, tornadoes usually for here.

I've seen this on Discovery Channel, it was wel cool, i really loved the part where u (Reed Timmer) were screaming "BACKUP! BACKUP!" :p, i could see on ur face u were really delighted to catch this tornado with ur probe, congratz, and nice vid ;)plz reply :D
