They don't slow the pace down in F1 they just don't allow overtaking.

because the yellow flag means the safety car as well which is not the case in f1...and that is why i like f1,you dont just ruin some1 race becuz another driver got stuck in the gravel pit

there is no passing in nascar when the yellow flag is out use to be but it was too dangerous.

i dont like it but its ok if there is yellow flag when it concerns some1's life, and not brought out every 10laps,ohh by the way the yellow flag system in f1 is diff frm nascar,in f1 there cannot be overtaking around the yellow flag area but after that there can be overtaking...they dont need to slow the whole race down, that just ruins it
e521soediv (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
yea but you said you dont like yellow flags
nike2die4 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
that was what? more than 30yrs ago? that is why there is yellow flags now and safety car so if it is dangerous then they bring out safety car...
e521soediv (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
when F1 cars crash they get stuck in the gravel and they dont throw yellow flags but that costed a track workerd life in 1977 when he was hit by an F1 car did you see that vid? yea pretty graphic but they didnt throw the flag and when an f1 car crashes theres no point in trying to fix it.
nike2die4 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
you see that is why i said do some research before you talk...in f1 if a driver goes off road there is a 95% chance he would be stuck in the gravel pit or if he crashes then he is out, unlike nascar where they go fix the car and come back out again, and let me tell you in f1 qualifyin this yr the difference all season btw the first and the last is about 4 seconds, just like in nascar....
e521soediv (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
because its an oval and not a big ass 3 mile road course where you can just get back on the road. and nascar races are like a convier belt.
nike2die4 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
and i have watched a nascar race where they brought out the flag even when they was no debris, the driver ran wide and ran off to the grass but they still brought out the flag, what debris was there? its not like they race on the grass lol
