I don't think her arms are any more distracting then gouging with spurs or grabbing with hands. It is supposed to be a dance. My guess is that the arms are part of the cues to the horse

Arf, j'étais à Baucaire ce jour là...mais je ne savais pas qu'il y avait cette représentation le soir. :(par contre, je suis allée à la première compétition de dressage artistique à EquiSud, c'était formidable !C'est incroyable comme la cavalière contrôle son cheval ici !

That women did a good job! And the horse must be well trained too! The horses is gorgeous, I love Lusitano's.. They're such beautiful horses!

I'm very impressed! She controls the horse merely with her weight/seat. That's certainly good body tuning! But there's something I don't like... the curb bit's shanks are totally horisontal - not vertical. It puts a great amount of pressure on the horse's tongue. I think she has attached the reins too tight :o(
