And the idiot driving the GT500 horribly misses 4th gear when pulling on the E55. Must be a European Vs USA thing....

I once thought the same until an E55 hung with my 04 Cobra which had standard pulley upgrades and close to 500HP aftermarket. Trust me when I say the E55 is the worlds #1 sleeper car. Both my E55 and GT500 are stock at the moment except exhaust. Each pulls the same numbers at the drag strip with similar enviromental conditions. BTW - Don't let a Mercedes SL65 or S65 try to race you. Go online and check out their stats. I leared the hardway by getting smoked in my Porsche 911 (non turbo).

I performed a dyno on my E55 and it stated 388RWHP Some dyno's differ in range, but this shop is fairly accurate. The only advantage the E55 has is from a dig due to the outstanding track control and lack of shifting by the driver.

It's actually 498hp stock- mercedes purposely understated the power numbers so the cl55 and cls55 aren't overshadowed.

the benz is modded too for sure

The E55 is a great car. But its lucky that this mustang is not a Saleen mustang. A Saleen S302 extreme mustang, 620 hp, 3,400lbs of weight could take on the E55.

e55 is no joke.... dont be made hahahahaha

The video on this link is just flat out bogus. No way that Mercedes is going to pull that GT500, unless the GT500 is stock (CAI and tune matter little if it's not a good one), just no way.I'll take 1/2 the difference in the price of the two vehicles (not even full difference, just give me half), and you've got a Ford that will absolutely beat 99.9% of the cars made, not just on the road, but made, period.

$42k actually

Much ignorance on this post.....I own both vehicles and for those not in the know - these vehicles are within 100 LBS of each other. The Shelby is 500HP stock and the E55 is 469 HP stock. If you're lucky enough to own both vehicles it's definately not for the same reason. One is an American icon. The other - daily driver that provides superior performance in a luxury package - period. |
