Of course all historians make mistakes. But by gathering alot of individual facts and checking these against eachother you can usually come to a pretty good conclusion. For example, all of Norman Davies works doesnt fall beacuse of minor faults in all of his research.

"involved in a conspiracy against the history of the USSR"It's well known fact, that reputation is priceless for a historian. But some of them do delirious statements sometimes not cuz of "conspiracy" of course, but probably cuz of their own favours or interests. For example:is British historian Norman Davies a professional? Why does he tell such absurdity about removing foreign minister Litvinov from his post in 1939?

they distort numbers of Ukrainian grain export/quotes,they showing pictures of"holodomor" which were actualy taken during famine in Russia in20s,

for politic purposes is a very danger thing, cause it makes a whole gener-ons to hate each over.Good example-"holodomor".They don't tell that it was not just in Ukraine but in Volga region and north Kazakhstan,

Nowadays history is using by politcs for their own instan purposes. From both sides. For example they shoot some frank propaganda like Latvia's "Soviet Story" film and show it in schools. Most people can't distinguish serios historical work from shitty rough bullshit, so they believe to it and thing that it's final truth. That's the problem.Discussing about what acually was and trying to see real facts it's good, but inmao inventing new "facts" actually faked, distortion of real facts --->next post

Which is the film?
antibulletdodger101 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Exactly, it does matter, because you want as much real facts as possible. Counting the deaths caused by Stalins murdering politics is not as easy as counting, for example, the countless murders caused by Hitler, although no final number can ever be set.

Of course unpartial litterature is useless. No one with a serious agenda would care for them. Sources are checked within the scientific community and litterature is accepted or debunked on an internationa level alot of the time. Trying to accuse professional historians of being involved in a conspiracy against the history of the USSR is a joke and anybody not brainwashed by totalitarian propaganda knows it. |
