北京オリンピックも最 にさしかかろうとする時、フランスの『ル・モンド紙』に衝撃的な記事が載った。情報は、フランスに訪問中のダライ・ラマ14世を通じてだそうだが、東チベットカム地方で、高度な自治を要求するデモをしていたチベット人140人が政府軍に射殺されたということのようだ。殺害された人数が確認できないようなので未確認情報となるが、今までもそうだが中国政府軍のやり方として、虐殺した遺体をすぐさまトラックに積み込み持ち去るために、中国政府軍以外は誰も把握できないのが実体なのだそうだ。世界の世論は、こういったむごい状況をこのまま見過ごしていいのだろうか・・・。
