Looks like experimental weapons. Usually a war is good for weapons development, so everybody gets in on it and make new ones like crazy. I'd put my money on anti-rocket system of some type.U.S. has been experimenting with anti-rocket energy blasts that might leave a glow in the sky after use. This almost looks like it.
