Lalon's early life are controversial impossible to verify. Lalon's life are often contradictory,unverifiable. Lalon's early life exists in the popular culture.Around the age of sixteen he was found floating by the bank of Kaliganga river, suffering from smallpox. He was taken to the home of Maulana Malam Shah and his wife Matijan, who brought him up. Lalon was in a near comatose state for many months and when he recovered lapsed into complete amnesia from which he never recovered in life.

Very good modern version. Lalon Fokir may have written about the caste system then, but there are new ills that plague the society. There are new caste systems emerging -- one of money, dominant religion.

লালন বিশ্বাস করতেন সুফী মতবাদে। এটা কি তা জানলে আপনাদের সাথে কথা বলা বৃথা। তবে এটুকু বলতে পারি, লালন মুসলমান ছিলেন না। সূফী মতবাদের স্রস্টাকে যদি বলেন মুসলিম তাহলে স্বয়ং খোদাও মাইন্ড করবেন!

third, why lalon wrote this song? he had severe illness, then his Hindu society left him in jungle, a Muslim woman take care him, gave food and he cured. When he became well, his Hindu society blame him to eat food from a Muslim family and told that he lost his jaaat...then he wrote it for that.coz of cast system in Hindu...Although some people told that he took the islam religion later . But he was against cast system..in his all song, you will find it. Sorry, if it hurts you.
