It would have kicked asses if Shinji would have seen Asuka suffering,screamed some epic shit like "What have you done to my girl?!" and mete out punishment to the EVA's the spartan Chuck Norris style.But instead we saw Shinji becoming a sick pervert coward,and Asuka became breakfast...not to mention the "great" thing that happened to mankind.

I know,the "Boy meets girl,power of love blah blah"-plot is very old,but it still works.It would have rocked the world if Shinji would have started to get up the nerve to save Asuka.

Man,the end of Evangelion was shit.Please,don't misunderstand me,the Anime is still good,but this was crap.I know,Shinji got some serious mental problems,but damn,through all the quarrel,all the differences between Shinji and Asuka,you can see clearly out that Asuka is at least "interessted" in Shinji...and he liked her too.But in the last episodes Shinji became a gayfuck-asshole,masturbating in front of a inpatient,and rolling into a ball while Asuka is just before dying.

The images in the collective mind are just a random jumble it seems, Shinji had to concentrate to conjure that "normal life" scenario so that scene could have been what either of them wanted Asuka especially ("You won't even hold me!)Even if they did non-corporeal people can't get pregnant.

not true Yui Ikari said that if one had the power to imagine themselves within there own hearts & the will to live, then they would return; hinting that Asuka & Shinji were just the first to be rivived of billions of people & countless plants, animals, bacteria, protists, fungi, ect, (including possibly Adam & Lilith)

I'm a japanese...and want to note that the famous ending word "kimochi-warui" has two distinct meanings: one is "I feel sick" and the other is "You are disgusting". The latter sounds more appropriate in this situation... in short, it looks like Asuka accepted AND rejected Shinji at the same time... this is the point which has perplexed fans for a long time, as you know....
